WHO WE ARE.
La Iris Human Development Initiatives (LIHDI) is a Christian Non-Government Organization committed to addressing socio-ethnic and ethnoreligious concerns, promoting tolerance, and supporting vulnerable members of society through pragmatic programs, and projects in partnership with Christian organizations, government agencies, and institutional donors.
La Iris Human Development Initiatives (LIHDI) was born out of a burden sparked by the 2001 crisis in Jos. We began praying about the vision in 2006, and by 2010, God started making the vision clearer. After years of groundwork, we initiated the registration process for LIHDI from 2021 to 2024, formalizing our commitment to the mission that had been unfolding since 2006.

- Interfaith Dialogue and Peacebuilding: Promoting harmony among diverse communities through dialogue, training, and conflict resolution.
- Advocacy/Awareness: religious freedom, social justice and integration, and fostering the rights of vulnerable groups for an egalitarian society.
- Education: Empowering vulnerable and less privileged individuals through access to education, financial intelligence, and value reorientation.
- Research: Investigating socio-ethno-religious issues and developing evidence-based solutions.
- Disaster Risk Response: Mitigating the impact of disasters through prevention, preparedness, and response.
- Economic and Environmental Sustainability: Promoting eco-friendly practices, reforestation, WASH, and sustainable livelihoods.
- Gender-Based Violence: Combating GBV through survivor-led initiatives, awareness-raising. and community engagement.
- Missions and Intercessory Prayers: We pray for global peace, tranquility, and prosperity, trusting that prayer can bring comfort, healing, and transformation to our world.
- Politics, Policy and Good Governance.
- Health: La Iris Human Development Initiative raises awareness through health education and counseling on various important topics, including story base trauma healing, classical trauma healing, nutrition and malnutrition.
