1. Meet Royalpriest
Royalpriest is a remarkable fourteen-year-old and a Grade 10 student of White Diamond Academy, Zarmaganda, Jos. His story reflects brilliance, discipline, and exceptional promise. Over the years, he has received multiple awards both within and outside his school, earning recognition for his outstanding academic performance — especially in mathematics, where he continues to excel beyond his age level.His excellence earned him the distinguished honour of serving as “One-Day Honourable Commissioner” in Plateau State, a recognition reserved for outstanding young achievers. Recently, Royalpriest emerged WINNER of the 3rd Edition of the Axia Technology Challenge 2025, held from 17th–18th October 2025, where he stood out among competitors from across the country.In addition to these achievements, he was proudly awarded as an Ambassador of Mathematics by the Africa Mathematics Project, affirming his place as one of the continent’s rising young minds. Royalpriest represents the kind of potential that lies within many vulnerable and underserved children — potential that flourishes when given support, encouragement, and opportunity
2. Meet Rebecca and Her Mother, Esther.
Rebecca is a courageous survivor of Boko Haram abduction who, though she escaped, was already pregnant as a result of the traumatic experience. By God’s grace, she survived and gave birth to her daughter, Esther.La’aris stepped in at their most vulnerable moment—supporting Rebecca’s recovery, ensuring Esther received education, and later providing Rebecca with seed capital to start a small business.Today, both mother and daughter are thriving. Esther is doing wonderfully well in school, and Rebecca is building a growing entrepreneurial venture. Their journey is a powerful reminder that hope, when nurtured, can transform even the darkest stories into testimonies of strength and renewal.
3. Meet Kaka Asaba
Asabe is an elderly woman who fled Gwoza during the Boko Haram attacks that devastated her community. Today, she cares for her grandchildren with unwavering strength and is determined to see them in school despite the hardships they face.La’aris stepped in to support this brave family, ensuring the children receive educational assistance and the stability they desperately need.Kaka Asabe’s story is a testament to resilience, faith, and the power of community support in rebuilding lives.
4. Meet Mancha and Alheri.
Mancha and Alheri Adamu are young survivors of displacement whose education was cut short by conflict. When they lost stability, they also lost their chance to continue learning — until La-iris stepped in.Through timely support, both children were re-enrolled into school, restoring not only their education but their confidence, dignity, and sense of direction. Today, Mancha and Alheri are back on track, rebuilding their dreams one lesson at a time.Their story embodies the mission of La-iris — giving vulnerable children the opportunity to rise again.
5. Meet Luka and Istifanus Gwoma.
Luka and Istifanus Gwoma lost both parents, and later their guardian — a series of painful losses that left them vulnerable and without direction. Through La-iris, a new face of hope was restored to their lives.Today, these brothers are standing tall among their peers. Luka has successfully written and passed his SSCE exams and is eagerly preparing to join the Police Academy, while Istifanus is thriving impressively in school.Their journey reflects the transformative impact of timely support — turning despair into confidence and giving orphaned children a future they can proudly look forward to.
6. Meet Sir. Andrawus LukaBrothers
Sir Andrawus is a young man filled with remarkable potential, creativity, and ambition. Driven by a strong passion for national and global security, he aspires to join the U.S. Military Intelligence in the future. As part of his preparation for this dream, he is currently working toward admission into the Air Force Military School in Jos.Andrawus has consistently demonstrated innovation, discipline, and exceptional academic performance. His brilliance has earned him multiple awards and recognitions, marking him as one of the promising young leaders of his generation.His story is a powerful reminder that when talent meets support and opportunity, greatness becomes inevitable.
7. Meet Grace
Grace is a graduating student of NTA Television College, Jos, whose journey from a vulnerable child to a skilled young professional is truly inspiring. She has been a key contributor to La’aris, designing the website, social media platforms, brochures, newsletters, and other creative materials that define the organization’s public identity.Grace’s story reflects the power of nurturing talent —transforming potential into impact, and turning a life once in need of support into a life that now gives back to others
8. Meet Noro, Christopher, Patience, and Rejoice
Noro, Christopher, Patience, and Rejoice are vibrant young children whose lives were deeply affected by crisis and displacement. Joshua is the cherished child of Joy, who endured the trauma of rape but, by God’s grace, survived and gave life to Joshua. In a moment of despair, La’aris stepped in to provide critical support for both mother and child.Today, Joy has graduated from a reputable university, and Joshua is excelling impressively in school. Their story is a remarkable testament to resilience, hope restored, and the life changing impact of timely support.
10. Meet Blandina.
Blandina’s world was shattered after the loss of her mother, but La’aris stepped in to restore hope and bring back her smile. Today, she is a Grade 12 student whose brilliance has earned her multiple awards at both state and national levels, particularly in computer coding and mathematics, along with numerous school prizes.Blandina aspires to study Digital Engineering, and her story is a shining example of how support, encouragement, and opportunity can transform loss into achievement and hope into ambition.
11. Meet Ruth Yakubu
Ruth discovered her passion for fashion design and entrepreneurship at a young age. Through the support and guidance of La’aris, she has been able to develop her skills, actualize her dream, and step confidently into the world of business.Her journey exemplifies how nurturing talent and providing opportunity can turn ambition into achievement.
